On 14 December 2008 last training for volunteers took place this year

This time the instructors explained how to make everyday functioning of blind and partially sighted people easier. The examples of correct and incorrect signs in various points e.g. in public places such as entrances, stairs etc. were shown in a multimedia presentation. The role of creating contrasts, color matching, clear labeling of the doors, handles, curbs etc. was stressed.

The next point was learning everyday activities without using sight. Volunteers tried to serve themselves at a table.

At the end, the volunteers went to an underground station where they were learning how to safely use means of transport while helping a person with sight dysfunction. Those who wanted, could use the underground the way blind people use it, that is without using sight, using a white cane and with application of all safety rules.

All activities were being performed under careful Ms Marta Kamińska and Katarzyna Doroszczuk´s tutelage.
